Sliders “Stoker” – Season 3 Episode 24

You just had a hunch that with any sort of series like this in the sci-fi genre they might bring vampires into the fold. This is the episode where we get to see the Sliders version of vampires.

Though I don’t consider vampires to be very much science they are definitely fiction. And they have been a fascination with our country for many many years.

The Sliders come into this world and everything seems fairly normal. They haven’t even heard of any people falling in to comas or disappearing. So they automatically think that perhaps Rickman has figured out a way to hide or dispose of the bodies to keep less attention focused on him. To fly under the radar.

But then they see some posters of missing people from skid Row and orphans and start to suspect.

What they never figured is that Rickman is not the only character who is behind these disappearances. This world has vampires on it and the main ones are in this band called Stoker. They do have some hypnotic effects because Wade has been wanting to have some fun and has been attending their rock concerts. She locks eyes with the lead singer and she is under his trance.

Meanwhile, Rickman has been paying this guy who runs a blood bank to do DNA tests for him and get him lists of people which meet his DNA requirements. It’s very ghoulish. The doctor starts to find out people on the list are having bad things happening to them. Instead of putting a stop to it he says it’s simply going to cost more money.

Wade gets deeper in with the band members. One clever thing they are doing is they have a human handler. He goes to the blood bank and buys blood for them. They’ve gotten a little bit more clever than just paying cash for the blood. What they do is offer 2 free Stoker tickets for anyone who donates blood.

So the vampires get what they want without attracting any attention to themselves.

So we have two groups of psychotic killers who are also operating a very smart strategy to keep attention away. So no one knows what is going on because they’re very smartly operating under the radar. No one really misses people from skid Row or orphans. And no one questions the people who are giving their blood in exchange for free concert tickets.

Everything comes to a head when Quinn meets Van Helsinger and he reveals the truth that there are vampires. He is on a vendetta because they have taken his wife. They go into kill the vampires and Van Helsinger has his back snapped. The vampires descend upon this fallen, crippled victim making quick work of him.

Quinn goes back to the hotel to get Rembrandt and Maggie. They gear up to go in after Wade. They do what they have to do to kill a whole ton of vampires until only one remains.

Wade is riding on the motorcycle with the head guy Morgan. He and Quinn have a face off and Quinn ends up getting the better of him staking him through the heart.

They leave this world no worse for the wear.
