Chuck “Chuck Versus the Role Models” – Season 3 Episode 15
This episode of Chuck starts out very strangely. We hear Morgan Grimes voice narrating about how his boss is Chuck Bartkowski who is a supersecret spy. The cool thing about the TV show is we also get the images of his dream.
He’s dreaming about Sarah in a hot outfit with Chuck in a super hot sports car. The two of them are driving alongside one another in a Fast and Furious, way. Morgan Grimes is bringing up the rear behind them in some little moped which can somehow keep up with the fast sportscars.
So why does he see himself in his own dreams driving a moped? Why is he dreaming about Chuck’s romance and dating life instead of his own? And how can his little moped keep up with these fast sports cars?
These are just a few of the questions that come to mind. Then all the sudden Morgan leaps out of bed awake.
He’s a little freaked out by his dream.
He wakes up to go to the refrigerator and starts talking as if it’s Chuck because the open fridge door. Sarah then closes the door with orange juice in her hand and starts talking to Morgan. He is quite surprised and doesn’t know what to say.
They fast forward to the morning and then Chuck has a conversation with Morgan about how Sarah’s got to be there quite a lot. Sarah comes in and Chuck has the “let’s move in together” conversation. Sarah hasn’t been in a normal healthy relationship so she initially shoots him down. But I suspect later in the episode she’ll reconsider.
This episode basically has two tracks it’s going to follow. Chuck and Sarah are going to be observing the CIA’s top power couple for the last 30 years. These guys have been a married couple all during their time as spies and have done many successful missions since the 1980s.
The second track will be Morgan’s evolution as he attempts to become a field ready and field trained agent. Much to John Casey’s chagrin he is the one who will be training Morgan Grimes.
There is also the side action of Ellie and Dr. awesome’s tour in the Congo doing Doctors without Borders. Ellie has an encounter with a poisonous snake who ends up getting a machete. She also starts to doubt herself because she’s not an outdoor person and even when she was camping in the backyard with Chuck when they were younger she would go inside. She set her alarm before Chuck would awaken and then crawled back into the tent so he was none the wiser.
At the end of the episode Dr. awesome gets dosed with something to look like malaria so that he and Ellie would have to leave. There’s this weird security guard who is behind in the dosing and we don’t know what group he’s working with nor what plan of action is going on in the background. Nor do we know why they’ve involved Ellie and awesome but we know it must be something to get to Chuck.
What I enjoyed the most in this episode is the evolution of Morgan and Casey.
Casey says a good agent has three things subversion, stealth, strength. The three s’s.
So first he says Morgan’s got to get this hot girl’s phone number. He says a good agent must be able to manipulate any target at any time. So Morgan goes over to get her phone number and instead she writes, “you disgust me.” So test one is failed.
Test two is stealth.
Casey says Morgan’s task is to steal something from the store. Big Mike happens to be asleep so he tells Morgan to steal his key card without him knowing. He gets the key card but awakens big Mike.
Test two is failed.
Test three is strength.
Casey takes Morgan down to the secret base under the yogurt shop next to the Buy More. He teaches him how to work with guns and weapons. Morgan has good knowledge because he’s played lots of first-person shooters. But when he first shoots the gun the kick causes him to be frightened.
Test three is failed.
Chuck and Sarah’s observation mission takes on quite a few twists and turns. The Turners are supposed to go into this party and get a software.
This German guy named.Otto Graham is a rich guy who’s hosting a party. But behind the scenes he has developed a software that can crack the CIA’s encryption. He’s looking to sell this to the highest bidder. This would mean that the CIA’s information would be an open book to any enemies.
Chuck and Sarah go in there with the Turners. The Turners start making a scene and the Bartkowski’s don’t know what’s going on.
The female Turner ends up falling down drunk while the male Turner is hitting on this young hottie. So the Bartkowski’s decide to take matters into their own hands and get the software themselves. They go upstairs to get it but there is a complication. Otto has a pet tiger.
Chuck flashes when he sees the Tiger’s collar and realizes the software is on the collar. Once the tiger falls asleep Chuck goes to get the collar but ends up waking the tiger. So he and Sarah have to run out of the room before the tiger can get them.
Much hijinks ensue but basically there’s a tracking device on the collar which leads Otto back to them. He brings his tiger along.
The Turners had attempted to steal the collar and sell it to the highest bidder because they’re looking to retire. Chuck and Sarah track them down and get back the collar. But then Otto meets all of them at Chuck’s house.
There is a shoot out and some craziness with the tiger but basically all’s well that ends well.
I definitely recommend you view this episode.
