This is one of the strangest slides our Sliders he rose have ever encountered. The vortex looks weird almost like a wormhole has been interrupted and dumps them off before their journey was finished.
Diana tells them they are not on the earth anymore.
Rembrandt and Maggie let out a little bit of a laugh.
They tell Diana it simply doesn’t work that way. No matter what happens they don’t time travel nor did they go to other planets. It is always just an alternate version of Earth they simply land in different parts of Southern California or San Francisco.
But this one is quite different and they come to find out they are actually in purgatory. They meet up with this lieutenant and his troops. They don’t know what war is going on but they will soon find out.
He drafts them into service even though they protest saying that he can’t force them to fight. He agrees but says that he can take them to where the fighting is and let them make their own decision from there.
They do some pretty good fighting and the lieutenant warms up to them.
They come to find out the lieutenant and his troops are fighting the Kromaggs on this world. They are protecting some bunker whose contents they don’t know. The lieutenant was just given orders to protect it even though he doesn’t know what’s inside.
Things are getting very bleak as the number of troops dwindles. The Kromaggs are also suffering massive losses and shortages of supplies as well as food.
The conflict is coming to a head and will soon be over.
The Sliders discover that the lieutenant and his troops are from Quinn’s home world. This is also the Kromaggs home earth. In the discussion Rembrandt tells the lieutenant that he wants a weapon that Mike Mallory used to beat back the Kromaggs so he can take it back to his world.
The lieutenant tells him he doesn’t want a Voratron device because it has nasty ecological side effects.
Rembrandt loses hope of freeing his world.
As the episode progresses things do come to a head when an uneasy truce is formed because Rembrandt has a chance to kill the commanding Kromagg but doesn’t. The Kromaggs want food and believe the bunker has supplies in it. So the Sliders agree to go down there and see what is in the bunker.
While they are down there the Kromaggs double cross and kill all the humans. One of them does the mind trick to take on the role of the lieutenant and goes down there to find out what’s in it.
They realize it’s a Voratron Kromagg killing device.
They discover the Kromagg’s subterfuge and kill him. They slide out of there but before they do they trigger the Voratron device and take out the Kromaggs on this purgatory world. It was actually an asteroid and Diana discovers the reason the timer isn’t counting down is not because the wormhole is closed but simply because it’s been interrupted.
She makes some adjustments to the computer and reopens the vortex which got interrupted. They enter back into the wormhole which now completes its journey dumping them off on the next world.

This episode is the misguided attempt of one of the new Sliders to make things better. Diana Davis’ lack of experience causes a great shift and calamity for the world they slide into.
As it opens our Sliders are still having vast difficulty because Mallory has 2 people in him.
The fragmentation is threatening to tear him apart and make him completely crazy. If it continues to worsen like the trend has been it will tear him apart basically un-anchoring him. This will mean he’s unstuck like Dr. Geiger and Colin Mallory.
There are very high and great steaks here.
To complicate matters they are in the park enjoying a little R&R before they get back to work. This little girl comes up to Diana and calls her mommy. She starts showing her the picture she drew despite the best efforts of Diana to clear up the misunderstanding.
The little girl remains unconvinced. Then her real mom walks up behind so the Sliders conceal Diana in order to avoid any complications or trouble.
The little girl starts talking to her mom and says that the other woman looked just like her.
Diana ends up seeing her double a few more times and overhearing some very nasty conversations. She disagrees with the way this Diana is living her life.
She ends up going to the physics lab in an attempt to solve their Mallory problem.
Back at the hotel Maggie attempts to comfort the new Mallory by using this little travel device they have on this world. This world is quite a bit more technologically advanced than most other worlds and so they have this hologram projector which allows you to instantly travel anywhere.
It’s only an image in your mind but the hologram still feels very real.
So Maggie gets the bright and somewhat selfish idea to allow Mallory to relive their prom night.
She also wants to relive some of the experiences from the bubble world she had with Quinn. She’s obviously having difficulty letting her Quinn go because of the love they shared.
This only causes Mallery emotional and literal pain. One body is only meant to have one person so this is causing a huge strain on him.
Things are spiraling out of control with Mallory and they need to do something.
But Diana Davis runs into her double again and just can’t allow herself to sit idly by doing nothing. She hates the way this Diana is living and wants to make things better for her. In an attempt to kill two birds with one stone she creates this energy field hopefully to cure Mallory’s fragmentation.
Only Dr. Geiger senses this most stable point in the multiverse and is attracted to it like bees to honey.
He does something of a double cross to Diana which changes this world drastically. Nadine her double’s daughter goes away. Many other changes also happen turning the physics lab where she is working into a high-security military base.
She realizes the error of her ways but it’s too late.
Back at the Chandler hotel she meets with the group to tell them what she did. They’re understandably upset but they still have to help out Mallory though they don’t know how to get back into the high-security military base.
One thing working for them is the Diana Davis of this altered world is the head of the lab there. They can use their Diana’s fingerprints and retina scan to get back in.
They do get back in but to no avail. They’re unable to help Mallory and have to slide out of their unresolved. Due to the time constraints she also fails to set this world back the way it was.
So she ends up hurting her double’s life. She leaves knowing that she messed up big-time.

Revelations was the season finale for season 4. It turned out to be the final slide for Jerry O’Connell and Charlie O’Connell. Their character’s Quinn and Colin Mallory were taken out the very first episode of season 5.
Apparently, there was some sort of contract dispute or money dispute between Jerry O’Connell and the network which could not be resolved so they chose to do one more season without two of the main heroes involved. Rembrandt and Maggie are the final 2 who have been around for a while.
It’s quite disappointing also because this was an exciting episode where much was revealed. The Sliders first slide off this world where they are running away from this giant hand. They found themselves on a world of giants and one of them developed a massive crush on Maggie. He wanted her to meet his parents. He even put his hand through the vortex in an attempt to grab her and bring her back.
Once they land on this world Quinn cannot believe his eyes when the timer says they have 624 hours on this place. They’ve never had as long as 24 days on any world they’ve been on. He can tell they’re going to have lots of down time here.
Since they have lots of down time they take odd jobs.
Maggie is a waiter. Quinn and Collin are mechanics at the local full-service station.
Maggie gets fed up and decides to quit. In the meantime Rembrandt has been doing some recon and reading lots of books that they have here because of the downtime. He reads one that is scarily similar to their sliding adventures. It talks about the Gormags, how their women can’t have babies, and interdimensional worlds.
It is supposedly a sci-fi novel.
But the Sliders know better because it is simply too real to the truth.
They speculate the author Isaac Clark is someone who is from their home world. So they have to track him down but unfortunately he is very elusive. He never meets with his publisher nor does he have an agent to speak of. All he has is a lawyer.
Then Quinn and Collin get this brilliant idea to trace any phone numbers that the three of those people have called. They need a modem but they don’t have any money. They ask Maggie to cough up what she has saved her her big night out.
She reluctantly gives them the money. They track down a phone number which happens to be a payphone in this out-of-the-way place.
They meet Isaac Clark and tell him their story. He reveals to his daughter that everything in the stories is true. He tells the Sliders he is from Quinn and Collin’s home world. This turns out to be a lie. They slide back to Isaac’s home world and think they are all home.
However, when Quinn and Collin are telling their parents the story of the microchips their parents know something is wrong.
This is an alternate world.
Isaac simply wanted to get back here to right a wrong that happened 20 years ago. The Kromaggs are the downtrodden race here and they were basically ethnically cleansed into extinction. Isaac was sentenced to sliding exile.
He comes back to right his wrong and ends up getting captured. His daughter has supposedly gone back to his study to get the evidence of the Mallory’s treachery against the Kromaggs.
The Sliders are on the run from the police again. What else is new?
They get onto an Amtrak train which is moving at high speed and the vortex is set to open very shortly. We’re beginning to wonder if our heroes are ever going to get back to their home world to find a weapon which will defeat the Kromaggs on Rembrandt’s home world.
It’s a very unsatisfactory ending to season 4 which started and had so much promise. That after all their journeys the brothers didn’t even find their home world is ridiculous. I’m sure they figured they were going to resolve it in season 5 and when the negotiations with Jerry O’Connell broke down that possibility was out as well.
Overall, a very unsatisfying end to our hero’s journey.
To go through all the slides and all these adventures and not even have a climax where they get home to see what happens, it just seems wrong.

This is a crazy and somewhat difficult to understand episode. The title seems to make some sense and yet leads you off in an unknown direction.
Rembrandt and Collin come into this latest war zone world landing on a couch near a dumpster. They remark about just how difficult the slide was with crazy weird turns and the pain they felt. They don’t see Quinn and Maggie.
They’re starting to hyperventilate wonder what is going on. Then about two minutes later a second vortex appears and Quinn and Maggie come right into the dumpster.
They do their normal Sliders work and start talking with this lieutenant. He says there’s a sniper over there in that tenement and they need to stay down. They say they want to go to the Chandler Hotel and he says that as far as he knows it is still clear over there but stay on the side of the street.
Once they get to the Chandler they get a room. Quinn and Maggie are very tired and so they decide to lie down to sleep. But something overtakes them. They start running a fever and turning a jaundiced yellow color.
Rembrandt was doing some recon and made a connection with this reporter.
He now goes down to see if he can locate a doctor on this world. The Lieut. they talked to earlier is currently moving toward their sector because the sniper has appeared there. Rembrandt comes out of the hotel when the sniper starts shooting at him.
The lieutenant gets the sniper and Rembrandt asks him about getting a doctor.
The lieutenant informs Rembrandt they have no doctors to spare. Rembrandt decides to follow them where their convoy is going to presumably at least see if he can find a doctor. The sniper ends up getting the lieutenant while the rest of them run for cover. Rembrandt goes back out to grab the lieutenant and gets him to safety.
So the Lieut. makes a promise that if Rembrandt will get him to a doctor then he will get a doctor for Rembrandt. So the deal is on and the medic is back in the Chandler Hotel room to take a look at Quinn and Maggie.
He’s quite astonished by their yellow color which indicates liver failure, the cataracts in their eyes, and their overall condition which seems to be congestive heart failure. He says even though they’re young it seems like they’re dying of old age.
Collin and Rembrandt’s see this ghostlike man hovering over them.
They come to discover that there’s this crazy bubble universe which has been created in the memories of Quinn and Maggie. The ghostlike figure is their son Thomas Mallory.
Then Thomas and Collin start working on a solution.
It’s quite a crazy thing and as the MPs are about to bust down the door because they believe chemical warfare is being used Thomas opens the vortex to the bubble world. He warns Rembrandt and Colin that since they are not part of the bubble world it may not be able to hold their mass. They may die but if they stay there it’s likely they’ll die so they decide to go.
They get to the bubble world and do what they need to do. Thomas makes the calculations and re-opens the vortex which sends the Sliders back to their current world they were on. The bubble world has collapsed and no longer exists.
The Sliders are getting a déjà vu though. They have the same 12 hours they had on this world when they landed here before learning of the bubble world. They go out exploring a little bit and have the same conversation with the lieutenant. Quinn surmises that since that bubble world never really existed the space-time there has collapsed.
That means they are back to the original time here on this world and in this reality.

This is an interesting episode that takes a look at the possibility of clones. The Sliders come into this world and Quinn is immediately greeted by this hipster looking dude that says “hey Quinnster”.
Apparently Quinn is a Gen X version of Dean Martin as he says.
They don’t think too much of it but since there is a lab Quinn and Collin decide to go take a look at this for recon purposes. Maybe this world has some sliding technology they can use to help get back to their home world.
They go to the lab and Quinn immediately sees his double doing something incredibly dangerous with a laser. He’s using way too much power for a photon laser. That uses too much electricity. A great accident happens which electrically burns his eyes. They run to the aid of the Quinn double.
They call in security.
Security mistakes the Slider Quinn for this Quinn’s clone and they shock him unconscious.
Collin does everything he can just to escape so the captors have Quinn. They’re quite surprised because they thought the clone had gotten out of its cage. What they come to discover is the clone is safe and sound in its repository. So they have no idea what this one is.
Quinn has a father on this world who is a doctor. He is a surgeon who is doing this work of harvesting the clone’s organs and body parts.
This world is highly stratified as well. Maggie and the rest of the Sliders are back at the Chandler Hotel. They see these poor people suffering with no medical care or help. Before they had clones rich people offered to pay poor people for their hands and other body parts they needed.
But there is an underground movement to help out the clones.
The Sliders go in to get Quinn out of the hospital captivity but instead take the clone. So now the real Quinn is scheduled to be harvested so his double can have his eyes back. Only what the double’s father doesn’t know is that his own son is part of the underground resistance.
He refuses to take the clone’s eyes.
But his dad can’t accept this so is keeping him sedated in order to force him to take the new eyes. The underground resistance ends up coming and taking back Quinn and his dad as a hostage.
The Sliders don’t know this and so make an attempt to get Quinn back. They are captured in the process and so we have an old-fashioned Mexican standoff developing. They look to negotiate a trade.
Things heat up and the doctor comes to realize that the the clones aren’t just mindless beings. The Quinn clone steps in front of a bullet for the doctor and so he is now convinced. He stops what he is doing and starts offering pro bono medical care for the poor people of this world.
Slider Quinn narrowly escapes having his eyes taken from him. He and the rest of his group get to slide off of this world with all their body parts intact.

Slide by Wire doesn’t really make a lot of sense as a title for this episode. At least I didn’t get it.
It opens with a dark and ominous feel to it. There’s a Humvee driving along behind this chain-link fence on what can only be described as a military base. Maggie is cracking skulls and taking names. She busts up this guard in the bathroom.
So at the start you suspect it’ss Maggie’s double on this world. She goes into this lab and grabs this microchip off the side of this guy’s neck. We still don’t have confirmation that this is a Maggie double but we highly suspect it is.
The Sliders are on the run and the alarm sound is going off on the base. The Maggie who stole the chip runs out and the guys are urging her to come faster.
They all slide out of there and onto this backwards world that is like something out of the Salem witch hunts. Slider Maggie is left behind on that world and doesn’t believe she has anyway off the world. So she assumes the identity of that Capt. Beckett who is also a fighter pilot on that world. Only that world doesn’t have manned aircraft. It has technology which flies unmanned just that the pilots fly it remotely.
The Sliders have landed on a no technology world. The people there are highly religious and they fear any kind of technology. If you are found with anything tech you are put to death in a nuclear reactor.
It’s quite funny because their whole guide to their religion, their Bible if you will, is the operating manual for that nuclear reactor. Apparently the company that built it was from a time long ago. The people now don’t remember it but they just see it as an operating manual that they follow blindly.
The Sliders have some adventures and they notice that Maggie is acting very strangely and differently. She comes on to Quinn and wants to dance with him. She is having all sorts of fun and being very loose. Their Maggie is much more reserved.
Rembrandt catches her in a back alley when she is suffering from a headache. She removes the microchip from her neck and that is when he knows it is not their Maggie with them. He tells her they’ll do whatever they can for her but that she’s going back and they’re going to rescue their own Maggie.
She vows never to go back because they were killing her.
Apparently, the pilot technology was not as good as they would’ve liked and is killing the pilots.
She has some blood dripping out of her chip.
But since she’s decided she’s never going back she accuses Rembrandt of having technology. She makes a big scene and pulls the timer out of his pocket. There is no way he can deny it. The locals know he has tech and his inquisition will be that night.
Sliders have a plan to get him out. Quinn runs in to the midest of the villagers and says that they have the great wizard Remilio. And he is the great wizard Quinntar. He waves the tech around and says that it is of the devil and he will harm them. About that time it is time for the slide.
He opens the vortex to the shock and amazement of all the villagers in attendance.
He wants them to stay back or they will be struck down dead. The Sliders go back to the original Maggie’s world that they just left. They developed a clever ruse with Dr. Stephan Jenssen who slider Maggie lost when Col. Rickman killed him. On this world her double is still married to him.
He fakes her death so the colonel will be convinced.
They slide out of that world and he gets her out of there because he’s the doctor who does the autopsies. The colonel is none the wiser.
